Members of Rush Sailing Club have transformed a rubbish dump into a modern boating amenity.
The dump at Pier Road, Rogerstown may not have looked like an ideal location, but community spirit and a lot of hard work has resulted in a facility the north county Dublin village can be proud of.
The car park, boat park and slipway were constructed by the members of Rush Sailing Club in their spare time.
President Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh officially opened the facility, which will provide parking for one hundred and twenty cars and two hundred boats.
Mass was celebrated by the parish priest, Fr Peter Donoghue and a blessing of the boats took place.
