Nicholas Grimley was born in Skerries in 1917 and died in 1996. He was educated at Blackrock College before he spent time in England and America. He studied for the priesthood in Washington and was ordained in 1954 aged 36 and joined the order of The Society of African Missions (SMA). He was ordained Bishop of Cape Palmas, Liberia in 1962.
