A display of sports and leisure activities brings the crowds to St Stephen's Green in Dublin.

Minister of State with special responsibility for sport Jim Tunney is among the thousands attending the National Sport For All Day at St Stephen's Green in Dublin. Organised by Cospoir, the National Sports Council the aim is to develop an interest and participation in sport for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Spectators have the opportunity to try a wide range of sporting and leisure activities such as judo, cycling, weightlifting, chess, trampolining, hang gliding. Representatives include,

The Grange Gymnastics Club, Ronnie Delany, and beating themselves to health and fitness, the amateur boxers.

With large crowds attracted to St Stephen's Green, hundreds of motorists are caught in a long traffic jam.

While others frolicked, they fumed.
