'The Goat' a provocative play opens at The Project in Dublin.

'The Goat' a play, written by Edward Albee, has provoked walk outs from theatres and has opened at The Project Theatre in Temple Bar, Dublin. The play tells the story of a middle aged American architect Martin who has a rather unusual affair.

This Tony award winning play is about four human beings. It involves relationships.

Martin in this production is played by Bryan Murray who describes him as a successful architect with a wife that he loves and a son who is gay. Despite all this, Martin is having an affair with a goat named Sylvia. The cast also includes Susan Fitzgerald as Stevie, Tadhg Murphy as Billy and Philip O'Sullivan as Ross.

Director Michael Caven was shocked when he first read the script but felt compelled to do the play describing it as brave and extraordinary. He believes Edward Albee deliberately set out to shock the audience.

A story about a love that dare not bleat its name is not the stuff of an easy night out.
