Local people express fears after another escape attempt from Portlaoise, Ireland's top security prison.
Prisoners managed to smuggle in explosives and attempted to blow their way out of Portlaoise Prison. From early morning, there was much Garda activity in the area around the prison where one prisoner was shot dead.
People living in Portlaoise have expressed concern about having a prison on their doorstep. There are challenges to rearing a family near a high security prison. During a previous prison break, which took place during the day, children were playing on the streets.
