Learning to line dance in Louth offers an enjoyable form of excercise in a craze sweeping the country.

In Ardee, County Louth, the crowds are lining up to learn the choreographed country and western dance.

Line dancing began in the southern states of America, spread to the cities and now has arrived to the Bohemian Centre a former cinema in Ardee.

Áine Quinn, Boots 'N' Saddles', teaches line dancing five nights a week in various centres across the northeast. Classes begin with the basic steps and without music.

It's movement first, music later.

Áine Quinn first encountered line dancing on a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was teaching set dancing.

She taught them set dancing. They taught her line dancing.

Pat Black of the Ardee Concert Band, who own the Bohemian Centre, were looking for ways to fundraise and thought they would give line dancing a try. It has proved a great success attracting people from all walks of life taking part for a range of reasons.
