A new television service will provide local programming for the people of Derry.

Channel 9 can be viewed in a 25 mile radius from Derry city and has a potential audience of over 200,00 on both sides of the border. Those behind the new service believe that in time similar local television stations begin broadcasting throughout the country.

Channel 9 transmits from 6.30 pm until midnight seven days a week.

Chief executive Paul Boyle is confident that Channel 9 will succeed and believes that the new television station can follow the achievements of local radio.
