Barricades constructed during the Battle of the Bogside in Derry are to be taken down.
The decision to remove the barricades was made following a meeting between Derry Citizens' Defence Association and British Army representatives. Sean Keenan, chairman of the association, made the announcement at a press conference in Derry.
The Derry Citizens' Defence Association will take down the barricades.
Lieutenant Colonel Charles Millman, officer commanding British troops in Derry is present at the meeting. Brigadier Peter Leng welcomes the decision,
