Sunshine across the country makes for a memorable midsummer.

RTÉ News reports as people enjoy the outdoors rowing, swimming and fishing. Others follow more relaxing pursuits subathing and picnicking.

Summer is a coming in, well for a while it really looked as if it was, and, we thought we'd give you just a taste of it on this Midsummer Eve.

At Glengarra Wood in south County Tipperary, two women and a child take in views of the forestry and wildlife adjacent to the Burncourt river. The fine weather allows a workman the oportunity to paint a wooden bridge over the river.
