Members of the Norwegian Archaeological Society are on a visit to Ireland.
The group of archaeologists from Norway visited Newgrange and the Hill of Tara, and they will also be going to archaeological sites in Sligo, Boyle Abbey in Roscommon and Clonmacnoise in Offaly.
The archaeological excavations at High Street are of particular interest to the visitors from Norway, who were interested to learn about the lives of their Viking ancestors. As group leader Mr Fuglesang explains, this afforded them a close-up view of,
How our old countrymen lived when they had settled down and formed the first towns of Ireland.
