A new school planned for Bray will be the biggest second level facility in the town.
The contract for a new vocational school was signed today, with work scheduled to begin within the next four weeks. The new school in Bray will have a capacity for eight hundred students
This is the largest school ever planned for the town, and will be located on Novara Road, at a cost of £1 million.
Up to now students have had to attended a variety of locations including the existing technical school buildings on Main Street and at Florence Road, but from September 1980 the new Bray VEC (Vocational Education Committee) will house them all under one roof.
VEC acting chief executive Paddy O'Riordan told RTÉ News that they are thinking about the future, as the new school will provide,
A realistic basis for third level education in the area.
