Five hundred take part in the first of a series of road races for women.
The runners were put through an energetic warm-up at a chilly Portmarnock.
Today's race is the first in a series of Guinness road races for women organised by the official athletics body of Ireland, Lúthchleasaíocht na hÉireann.
Ten runs for women are planned over the next 12 months. Proceeds from the sponsorship will be used for the development of women's athletics in Ireland. The race was not just about winning. Many of the women were running for health, fitness or just the fun of running.
This first 10km race was won by Belfast-based, Donegal-born athlete Moira O'Boyle in a time of 36 minutes and 7 seconds. Moira O'Boyle, who spent time living in Scotland, is a former Scottish international runner and this year's winner of Belfast City Marathon.
