Video appealing for information about kidnapped supermarket executive Don Tidey shown in Quinnsworth stores.

On 24 November 1983 Quinnsworth supermarket executive Don Tidey was kidnapped from outside his home in Rathfarnham, Dublin. A £5 million sterling ransom demand has been made to Associated British Foods, the parent company of Quinnsworth of which Don Tidey is chairperson.

Quinnsworth produced a three minute video appeal to encourage customers to assist in the search for Don Tidey. The video tape is played continuously in 70 Quinnsworth stores around the country.

Managing director of the group Richard Reeves appeals for anyone with knowledge of the kidnap, no matter how insignificant or trivial, to come forward and,

To pass this information on to the manager of your store or your local garda station.

Quinnsworth say they have received a fantastic response from their customers to the video appeal,

With many people offering information, support and sympathy.

It is hoped that showing the video to thousands of their customers each day,

May eventually bring the break that everyone's hoping for.
