A proposal for the expansion of Dublin includes plans for the coast and the relocation of Dublin Airport.
The plan sees the expansion of Dublin city northwards along the coast and the relocation of Dublin Airport to Dunboyne in County Meath.
Architect Kenneth Madden who led the team who drew up the plan. Kenneth Madden rejects the proposal set out by Dr Myles Wright for the development of Dublin on a number of grounds. The Myles Wright plan advocates developing the city westward. Kenneth Madden believes that the city should be developed along the coast.
The city has developed this linear coastal form and our proposal is that we extend the natural growth of the city and let it extend along the coast.
Part of the plans to relocate Dublin Airport would see it linked to the city by a high speed transit system.
