Painting, drawing and sculpture among 168 works of art at the Royal Irish Academy exhibition.

Now in its 14th year, the exhibition at the RIA in Dublin includes 143 paintings and drawings, and 25 sculptures.

One painting by a Northern Ireland artist Cecil Maguire depicts a funeral on the Falls Road in Belfast. Happier moments are also captured like in the painting titled 'Lagoon' by Patrick Hennessey. There are also many abstract works on display.

Portraits of the famous is a feature of the exhibition and include the former President Éamon de Valera by George Colley. Another portrait is that of former Chief of Staff General Seán McKeown by Thomas Ryan.

In sculpture, there is the Tánaiste Brendan Corish depicted by Seamus Furlong, Seán MacBride by his niece Imogen Stewart, former Taoiseach Jack Lynch by Seamus Murphy, Lord Killanin and Sean Keating by Gary Trimbal.

Pauline Bewick has also made a contribution in sculpture titled 'Flowerpot for Picasso'.
