Delegates from the Australian film industry share knowledge and experience with Irish filmmakers at the Cork Film Festival.

A total of 116 feature films and shorts feature on the programme for the 25th Cork Film Festival.

Actors, directors and producers from Australia are in Cork to promote contemporary Australian cinema. Irish filmmakers are eager to learn how the film industry in Australia has grown and expanded within the last nine years.

This success has come about thanks to efforts by young Australian filmmakers who put pressure on their government to recognise the film industry.

Ray Atkinson believes, the Irish film industry is in a similar position to where Australia was some years ago.
