Raising money for the Enniscorthy Strawberry Fair to ensure the festival flourishes in its eleventh year.
While the Enniscorthy Strawberry Fair is just over four months away, efforts are being made to ensure it continues to thrive in what will be the festival's eleventh year.
At the conclusion of the 1977 Fair, the executive committee faced severe financial problems. In response to this challenge a fundraising draw is now being organised.
The draw is being limited to 2000 subscribers each of whom will pay a pound and the winner will be announced on Easter Monday.
The money raised will be used to provide free entertainment during the fair which opens in Enniscorthy on 1 July and continues for eight days.
This year the Enniscorthy Strawberry Fair is also being marketed as part of an attractive package holiday deal for people in Wales and the west of England. As well as attending the Strawberry Fair with its multiplicity of events, the tourists will be taken on coach tours to the Kilkenny Design Centre, Kennedy Park, Wexford Races and southeast seaside resorts.
