Halloween celebrations in Dublin leave Gardaí, firefighters and ambulance crews in Dublin dealing with multiple incidents of arson and antisocial behaviour.

All through Halloween night An Garda Síochána in Dublin made arrests for drunkenness, breaches of the peace or obstruction.

In Ballyfermot, vandals burned several cars and seven arrests were made. In Howth, Gardaí were searching for youths who threw petrol bombs.

Dublin's north and west sides suffered particularly with Gardaí there reporting many such incidents.

The worst incident occurred at Cromcastle Court in Coolock, where a paramedic bringing two people injured in a gang fight to hospital was attacked with a crutch. His ambulance was stoned during the incident and the crew only escaped from the area with assistance from the Gardaí.

During the early hours, vandals in Kilbarrack succeeded in their second attempt to burn down the Health Centre. In Raheny, two fires were discovered at the 73rd Scout Unit's den. The building was razed to the ground.

Despite this havoc, one Garda commented,

Things weren’t half as bad as last year.
