City manager wants Dubliners to help reduce rubbish and to keep their city tidy.
Dublin City Manager Matthew Macken is concerned at the growing problem of litter in the city of Dublin.
Litter is a very serious problem in Dublin.
He says that discarded rubbish presents a very negative image to visitors, particularly people from Europe who are used to much cleaner cities.
Matthew Macken believes that the problem is entirely related to "forgetfulness".
People must remember that they are not to litter the street.
By littering the street, people are costing the rate payers money, doing their city a great disservice and projecting a bad image of the Irish people as a whole.
