The fifteenth Strawberry Fair takes place in Enniscorthy, County Wexford.

The sun has been shining on the crowds who have come to Enniscorthy weekend for the annual Strawberry Fair which was opened by Minister for Agriculture Brian Lenihan.

This is the fifteenth year of a festival that celebrates the Model County's best-loved export. Over twenty tonnes of strawberries will be served in the town this weekend accompanied by one hundred gallons of cream.

Events include a football match between RTÉ Radio 2 DJs and local Gardaí. Twenty three year old Elizabeth Kavanagh from Kiltealy was crowned Queen of the Strawberry Fair.

At the local Chivers factory tonnes of strawberries are being prepared for the making of jam.
