Indian Guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and eight of his disciples are hiding out in a Limerick hotel.

A degree of mystery still hangs over the circumstances of which Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his party arrived at Shannon Airport last Friday after being refused entry to Britain.

The crew onboard his private jet had requested permission to stop over at Shannon.  According to one account, the authorities were informed that a person on board the jet required medical treatment. Another report is that the plane landed to wait for the weather to improve before carrying on its journey to Antigua.

The guru and his party are now ensconced in six luxury suites at Jury's Hotel in Limerick. They have not ventured outside and are refusing to see callers or speak to the media. Hotel staff are under strict instructions that they are not to be disturbed.

According to hotel manager Brendan Gallagher,

They remain permanently in their suites and are consistently using room service. They have asked that their visit remain private and we have observed that privacy as we would for any normal guest.
