The construction of a new marina at Dingle harbour is welcome but will it impact on Fungi the dolphin?

The redevelopment and dredging of the harbour come at a cost. There were fears that the dredging may have turned off Dingle's number one tourist attraction Fungi the dolphin. While this did not happen, reports are emerging that people from other parts of Kerry are attempting to lure the dolphin away from Dingle.

Fungi earns a lot of money for Dingle attracting many tourists throughout the summer months.

The dolphin was first spotted by ESB employee John O'Connor who blames the newspapers for hyping up a story that could damage community relations between Dingle and Cahirciveen.

Dingle native Michael O'Sullivan outlines the redevelopment plans and how they will benefit the local community.
