A Cork pub is the venue for the Hi-B Gramophone Society where a group of music lovers meet to share their appreciation for gramophone records.

Dick O'Sullivan has been playing the organ in his parish church in Cork city for over forty years. The 74 year old also has a unique passion for gramophone music which he shares once a month with other enthusiasts at the Hi-B Bar. 

This dedicated group talk of rebellion and war, of battles lost and won, of broken hearts and romantic heroes.

The Hi-B Gramophone Society is just one of more than ten such gramophone societies in Cork city. It has been meeting for over three years and attracts a mix of high and low brow music aficionados. 

Here in the Hi-B, it's all about the atmosphere and the crackle.

Owner of the Hi-B, Brian O'Donnell not only provides a venue for the monthly meeting but is also a fan of older music and enjoys sharing his passion with other members of the society.

Dan Buckley who is responsible for supplying the gramophone, the first Tuesday of the month is Holy Tuesday.

Another member of the society, Gerry O'Callaghan enjoys listening to the old love songs.
