President Mary McAleese, Britain's Prince Andrew and the Spanish Ambassador Enrique Pastor de Gana mark the 400th anniversary of the Battle of Kinsale.

President McAleese welcomed the presence of the Duke of York at the commemorations saying, 

It as a matter of both pride reassurance to us that we meet today in an era of healthier, more respectful, more egalitarian relationships indeed of partnership. 

Councillor John Thuillier, Chairman of Kinsale Urban District Council stresses the importance of the event for bridge building.
