Seán Noone's lighting controller lasts twice as long as its competitors.

This small but important control switched on the level of street lights. The ESB used to import vast quantities of these devices until Seán Noone, who ran a television repair business in Belmullet, Co. Mayo, decided he could make them himself and improve on the design.

Conor Fennell meets Noone in this RTÉ News report. The Mayo man is now supplying public lighting authorities north and south of the border. He believes its success is due to its superior reliability and its minimum life span of 10 years. Seán Noone believes there is potential from overseas markets for his company Solar Enterprises.
