Young people head for the Gaeltacht during the summer months to learn Irish and have some fun.
Hundreds of secondary school students stay in the homes of local people time in the Múscraí area of west Cork where they have come to learn or improve their Irish language.
In Múscraí the Irish language is thriving and actively encouraged through the summer school. One of the women who takes students in during their stay is Nora. She explains how as a bean an tí, she looks after children during their stay in Múscraí. Availing of some grant aid work has been done on the house to allow it cater for the students. During the spare time in the winter Nora likes to do jigsaws and is part of the local drama group.
