In 1984 Jim Fahy reported on 30 years of the Galway Oyster Festival.

The report opens with a look at the celebrations from the last night of the previous year's festival and features Mike Murphy, amongst others, enjoying the festivities.

The Galway City quincentennial celebrations marked a change of venue for the Oyster Festival from Clarenbridge, where it had been held for the previous 30 years, to Spanish Arch in Galway city.

Colm McGiolla, Festival Organiser, and Donal Morrissey, committee member spoke to Jim Fahy about the celebrations and what the festival means to the city of Galway.
