The annual Pan Celtic Festival celebrating Celtic languages and cultures has been held somewhere in Ireland since 1971.
According to this report from the 1974 festival, it has been constantly growing, with more people coming every year. The 1974 festival was held in Killarney, with a large contingent from Brittany. The other cultures represented were Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man.
Reporter Éamon Ó Muirí says the Celtic languages are under threat from English and French, the main cultures surrounding them. So here he presents "sé bheannaithe éagsúla ó sé thíortha éagsúla", greetings in six Celtic languages.
'Pan Celtic 1974' was broadcast on 22 December 1974. The reporter is Éamon Ó Muirí.
