Brian O'Driscoll plays his final game for Ireland at the Stade de France today 15 March 2014.

We return to the Stade de France where back in 2000 Brian scored a hat-trick against the French winning Ireland the Six Nations Championship title and their first win against France in Paris since 1972.

In this radio documentary 'Life of Brian', O'Driscoll recalls the match and his hat-trick. Brian’s mother Geraldine also recalls the moment when she went from being “Frank O’Driscoll’s wife” to being “Brian O’Driscoll’s mother”.

The final score was France 25 – 27 Ireland.

In 2000 O'Driscoll was just 21 and established himself as a force to be reckoned with in international rugby.

'The Life of Brian', a portrait of Irish rugby star Brian O'Driscoll was first broadcast on RTÉ Radio on 1 April 2002. The programme was compiled and produced by John Scally.
