Eight-year-old boy dies in Banbridge car crash

An eight-year-old young boy has died after a two-car collision in Co Down yesterday evening.

The collision involving a Ford Focus and an Audi Q3 occurred at around 5.20pm on the Aughnacloy Road in Banbridge.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people have been hospitalised. Their injuries have been described as serious.

It is understood one of those being treated in hospital is a child.

The PSNI is appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 101.
