A six-year-old girl who had been swept out to sea was among five people rescued in three separate incidents off the coast of Donegal this afternoon.
Rescue helicopter R118 from Sligo rescued the girl and her uncle who had gone to her aid at Port Arthur Strand.
The incident happened in Gaoth Dobhair at around 4pm today.
It is believed the girl was on a float at the time she was rescued. She was checked by paramedics when she got to shore and was unharmed.
The Árainn Mhór lifeboat as well as the local unit from An Bun Beag assisted in bringing the girl and her uncle to shore for medical attention.
In a separate incident, two people got into difficulties while kayaking to the west of the island of Inis Meáin.
And a kayaker was brought ashore after getting into difficulties one mile off An Bun Beag in Gaoth Dobhair.
No one was hospitalised as a result of any of the incidents, according to Malinhead Coast Guard.
