A 23-year-old man has been arrested following an armed robbery in Cork city.
It happened shortly after 5.30pm this evening at a service station on the Blackrock Road.
A man, armed with what was described as a machete, threatened staff before leaving the station with tray from a till containing cash and receipts.
During a follow up operation gardaí detained a man and recovered a sum of money.
He is being questioned at the Bridewell Garda Station.
No one was injured during the incident.
