A 58-year-old man will have four charges against him struck out if he pays a contribution of €500 to a refuge for victims of domestic abuse within the next fortnight, a judge has ruled.
The charges were made against Pat McAuliffe of Eden Court, Castle Road, Blackrock in Cork under the Public Order Act.
Mr McAuliffe, a sports reporter with RTÉ, was charged with being drunk and a danger to himself or others; engaging in threatening or abusive behaviour; obstructing a garda; and failing to give his name and address when required to do so.
He denied all the charges and contested the case against him at Cork District Court today.
The case arose out of an incident at the old Oak Bar in Cork city on 11 November 2015.
It has been adjourned until 12 December.
