A man is receiving treatment at University Hospital Limerick after a shooting in Limerick city.

The man in his 30s was hospitalised after the incident, which happened at around 3pm.

A man in his late 20s has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

He is being held at Roxboro Road Garda Station.

Gardaí are also examining a burnt-out Suzuki Vitara which was found in a back alley at Kennedy Park in the Roxboro area to establish if it was connected to the incident.
