A man in his 70s has died following an incident on a potato farm near Stamullen, Co Meath.

It is understood the man was struck by a teleporter while working on the farm at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, but was later pronounced dead.

The Health and Safety Authority and gardaí are investigating the incident.
