Gardaí in Co Meath have confirmed that a man in his 40s has died following a fire at a house in Kells.
Gardaí were alerted to the fire in a house in the town just after 8am.
Two adults, also in their 40s, and a number of children who were in the house were uninjured.
A garda spokesperson has said the scene is being preserved for a technical examination.
Preliminary indications are that the fire was accidental and is not being treated as suspicious.
