A man has been seriously injured following an assault in Lucan, Co Dublin.
The incident happened at Ballyowen Lane in Lucan between 11pm and midnight last night.
The 20-year-old is being treated for serious head injuries, and is in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital following the assault.
An incident room has been set up in Lucan Garda Station to investigate.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the vicinity of Ballyowen Lane or Ballyowen Shopping Centre between 11pm and midnight last night to contact them.
They have also appealed for anyone who may have dash-cams and who may have been in the area to contact them at Lucan Garda Station on 01 6667300, or any garda station.
