Around 20,000 runners have taken part in the 39th Dublin City Marathon.

Two Ethopian athletes came first in the men's and women's categories.

This year marks a celebration of female runners with Constance Markievicz appearing on the finishers' medals.

Asefa Bekele from Ethiopia won the Marathon while Mick Clohisey was the first Irishman to cross the line.

Mesera Dubiso from Ethiopia became the first woman across the line and Cork woman Lizzie Lee came in third place.

Johnboy Smith from England won the wheelchair race, while Irishman Patrick Monahan came second.

€12,000 was up for grabs for the first place male and female runners, with a total prize fund of €120,000.
