There were two Galway winners in the Ladies Day competition at Ballybrit.

The winner of the Best Dressed title went to Pamela Uba from Renmore and Best Hat was won by Eileen Lundon from Gort.

Pamela Uba's jumpsuit is from the website Phoenix V and her hat is by Galway milliner Laura Hanlon.

The medical scientist receives a trip to the Seychelles and €3,000.

The designer of Best Hat is Caithriona King from Corfin in Co Galway.

From mid-morning the first of the serious fashionistas began to arrive at Ballybrit, with the sun shining brightly on a dazzling array of frocks, frills, feathers and fascinators.

"Fun, fresh and different" was the name of the game and those vying for the title did not disappoint.

Throughout the day judges mingled with the crowd seeking out the top ten contenders for the Best Dressed shortlist.

They included broadcaster Síle Seoige, nutritionist and former model, Rosanna Davison, fashion blogger Ciara Doherty and Her.ie's Gillian Fitzpatrick.
