A man in his 80s has died following a one-car crash in Co Roscommon.

He was driving on the Carrick Road in Boyle when his car struck a wall.

The man's body has been taken to Roscommon University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
