Thousands of items from the archives of the Irish language organisation Conradh na Gaeilge have been made available online.
Spanning more than 120 years, the material details the work carried out by generations of people involved in the language campaign, since its formation in 1893.
Around 60,000 items have been digitised by archivists at the University of Galway and can now be found on a dedicated website.
The collection covers all aspects of Conradh na Gaeilge's activism, from rights campaigns to the status of the language Ireland and in Europe.

The university took custody of the archive in 2018. Since then work has been ongoing to catalogue more than 600,000 items.
The institution said that it gives unique insights into Irish history, from the cultural revival, through the struggle for independence, to the development of the State and the subsequent place Ireland took in the European Union.
The digital collection aims to assist researchers, along with anyone interested in the history of Conradh na Gaeilge, to delve into the records of the organisation.
It is one of a number of archives relating to the Irish language that have been digitised by staff overseeing special collections at the university’s library.
