Two dead in separate crashes in Cork and Limerick

An appeal has been issued for witnesses following separate road crashes in counties Limerick and Cork in which two men were killed.

In Limerick, a motorcyclist in his 50s died after his bike was in collision with a car and another motorbike.

The crash occurred on the N69 Limerick between Glinn and Tarbert at around 12:40pm and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to Limerick University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car was uninjured and the road has been closed for a technical examination.

In Cork, a man believed to be in his 30s was killed in a single vehicle collision on the Old Dublin Road, near J18 of the M8 motorway.

His body was removed from the scene and taken to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The road was closed for a time but has since re-opened.
