An investigation is under way following a shooting in west Dublin in which a 30-year-old man was injured.

The shooting occurred at around 11pm yesterday.

The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to Tallaght Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination 

Gardaí at Ronanstown are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
