Three people have been killed in separate road collisions over the past 24-hours.
A man in his 40s was killed in Co Tipperary this evening as he was walking on the M8 motorway close to junction 11 Cahir South when he was struck by a lorry.
The incident happened at around 5pm.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was uninjured.
The southbound carriageway of the M8 motorway is closed between junctions 11 and 12 and diversions are in place.
In Co Offaly a woman in her 30s died following a collision with a car as she walked on the R420, Clara Road shortly after midnight. .
She was taken to Tullamore General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car was also taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

Separately, a motorcyclist died following a collision involving a car in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.
The man, who was in his late 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Tipperary General Hospital.
The collision happened at around 6.15pm on the N24, between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
