A 21-year-old Irish woman has died in a single vehicle crash in Canada, according to Canadian media.

Canadian broadcaster CBC has reported that the crash happened at around 10.30am (4.30pm Irish time) on Wednesday.

The crash happened north of the town of Maidstone in Saskatchewan.

The woman, who was the only passenger in the vehicle, was found dead at the scene.

Her family have been notified, Canadian police have said.

An investigation is continuing into the crash.

Maidstone is 300 kilometres east of Edmonton.
