A weather warning is in place for much of the west and northwest of the country tonight as Storm Dylan approaches from the Atlantic, bringing heavy rain and high winds.
Met Éireann issued a status orange wind warning ahead of its arrival, with gusts of up to 125km/h forecast.

The ESB has warned of a risk to supplies, particularly in Mayo, Sligo and Donegal.
There are also fears of coastal flooding.
ESB Networks have warned of potential power outages especially along the Mayo, Sligo and Donegal coasts. Repair crews are on standby in the region.
Met Éireann has also warned of high seas and a risk of coastal flooding along the western seaboard as low pressure and the high winds of the storm combine with high tides overnight.
Galway City Council has erected flood barriers in vulnerable parts of the city, as has the local authority in Limerick city.
New Year's Eve fireworks and festivities in Limerick castle have been cancelled due to storm and flood threats.
High tides are predicted tomorrow at 4.29am and 4.55pm.
A less severe yellow wind warning is also in place for much of the south, east and southeast, but gusts could reach 90-110km/h in those areas.
Met Éireann's updated status orange weather warning was issued this morning for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meath and Clare.
It says: "Tonight and Sunday morning Storm Dylan will track northeastwards close to Connacht and Ulster coasts.
"The biggest impact from the storm will be in western and northern counties with west to southwest winds reaching mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h with gusts of 110 to 125km/h. High seas along the west coast too with the risk of coastal flooding."
The warning took effect at 9pm tonight, and runs until 12pm tomorrow.
The status yellow wind warning for the same period is for Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
Met Éireann has warned: "Tonight and Sunday morning as Storm Dylan tracks to the northwest of the country, west to southwest winds will reach mean speeds of 45 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h."
