Consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Salah Aziz has returned to work at Cavan General Hospital, with conditions attached.
Dr Aziz had been placed on leave pending the outcome of a Medical Council fitness to practice inquiry into allegations against him, relating to three women and childbirth.
In June, Dr Aziz was cleared in six out of seven allegations of professional misconduct, or poor professional performance, after one of the longest inquiries held by the Council, which started in November 2016 and was completed last June.
It found that one allegation amounted to poor professional performance - a failure to decide on the immediate delivery of Patient C's baby by Caesarean section, around 26 April 2014 at the hospital.
The Medical Council decided to admonish Dr Aziz and attach conditions to his registration.
The 25-day inquiry looked at the three cases at Cavan General Hospital between 2012 and 2014.
In a statement, the RCSI Hospitals Group, which includes Cavan General, said Dr Aziz returned to work at the hospital his month, following the inquiry by the Medical Council.
It said that all conditions attached to his registration are being adhered to.
