An Orange Order member who drove his car into a crowd of nationalist protesters in Ardoyne, Belfast, has been jailed for two years.

John Aughey, 63, was found guilty of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, and assault.  

The incident happened in July 2015 after a 12th of July parade was prevented from passing the Ardoyne area.

A 16-year-old girl and two PSNI officers were among a number of people injured.

Mr Aughey claimed he made a U-turn as he believed his car had come under attack by protesters.
