Irishman 'grievously' injured after Malta road incident

Police in Malta have said an Irishman in his mid 30's has been "grievously" injured after being struck by a car near the capital Valletta in a road incident.

Police in Malta have said the man, who lives in Sliema, was hit by a car driven by a 67-year-old woman.

He is currently receiving treatment for "grievous injuries" in Mater Dei hospital in Msida.

Police say they were informed of the accident at around 9.30am this morning in The Strand, Sliema.

Police say a Magisterial Inquiry was appointed on the case whilst their investigation is still ongoing.
