Gardaí investigating the murder of a man whose body was found in Ballyboughal in Co Dublin earlier this month have renewed their appeal for information.

The body of Polish man Michal Kurek was found in a rural location at Grange on 4 August.

The 34-year-old, who had been living in Ireland for many years, had died from stab wounds.

Mr Kurek had been homeless in recent months and was known to have spent time in the Blanchardstown, Ongar and city centre areas.

Supt Noel Carolan said several hundred lines of inquiry are being examined.

He said: "We have received massive assistance from the public as well as very valuable information from the local community, the Polish community and the homeless community.

"However, we are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward."

Anyone who knew Mr Kurek, in particular anyone who met him or knew of his movements on 3 August or 4 August, is asked to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01-8020510 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
